These children were freed from slavery. In an Ashram in Northern India, they are learning, playing, eating, growing, and re-discovering their potential and the fun of learning! One of the best ways for students to learn about modern slavery in a way that is engaged and positive is at Schools4Freedom. All over the world, parents will do almost anything to give their children better lives. So when activists go undercover into enslaved villages, they tell parents that their children can learn to read and write at a transitional school right there in the village. The hope for a better future for their children fuels the parents past their fear of slaveholders’ thugs. They join together, with the help and support of activists. Villagers learn that it is possible to free themselves and demand change. |
